Join us for two hours of torch, swing, and honky-tonk along with great food and craft beers
Wilkinson James have been performing their distinctive blend of blues, folk, and honky-tonk in and around the Twin Cities area since singer-songwriters Liz Wilkinson and AJ Scheiber first met up in 2008. A fan once described their original songs as “the bastard offspring of Townes Van Zandt and June Carter Cash,” which has always sounded about right to them. Their debut album (simply titled “Wilkinson James”) released in early 2015, and featured 13 original songs, a top-notch band of local session players, and keen production guidance from Ben Kyle of Romantica. Their EP Abandon released in Fall 2016, and reflected the growth of the original duo into a full band, with saxophone, dobro, and a swinging rhythm section providing touches of torch, swing, and American Songbook stylings in addition to the band’s original folk and country roots.
