Potter's Pasties

Potter's Pasties

One of the big myths about England is the one that says the food is terrible.

Yes, it’s true that you can’t really find a cold glass of water in the UK, and it helps to really love peas, but to just dismiss the culinary offerings of an entire country (or four united ones, even) is folly. And wrong. And kind of ignorant.

And it is clearly the work of someone who has never eaten a pastie.

First of all, they’re pronounced pă-stees, and secondly, they’re awesome. Potter’s Pasties, the finest maker of pasties in the Upper Midwest, will be at Imminent Brewing to show you just how good these things are.

These are traditional puff pastry wrapped pies with ingredients like minced beef, onions, potatoes and gravy, or braised pork, apples, onions and coriander. Potter’s has created some of their own unique offerings, as well with Thai ingredients, or veggie offerings.

Potter’s Pasties has long been considered among the best of the Twin Cities food trucks. We can’t wait to have them parked at Imminent Brewing!

Miss Becky Kapell and the Fat 6

Raised in small town Minnesota, Becky moved to Portland Oregon on a whim as a young adult and began singing back-up vocals in various bands, eventually fronting her own country cover band. Along came a husband, two kids and a move back to Minnesota. “I worked full-time, raised my kids and basically forgot about music until my son started playing guitar as a teenager. After my divorce I found myself with a little more time on my hands so I picked up one of my sons guitars and began teaching myself to play for fun.” She eventually met and started playing with local guitar stalwart Paul Bergen and her song writing morphed from the folkier sound of her first record to a more guitar-driven country sound. "I've always loved country music from the 50's, 60's and 70's...I love the earnestness of the words and the deceptively simple melodies and the songs I'm writing now reflect that love. Plus I'm a sucker for the kick-ass guitar playing on so many of those old records and it's fun to be able to hear Paul add that on my own songs.” Becky recently celebrated the release of her second record That Certain Ache. Recorded and produced by Bergen, the record also features his signature guitar work as well as guitar and drums by Erik Koskinen who mixed the record. She plays with her band The Fat 6 across the midwest.

Check out her website for more information and to listen to her album, That Certain Ache.

Fred the Bear

Fred the Bear is an alt-rock band known for their rich harmonies, emotive dynamics and original songs. FTB’s music reflects on life's promises and disappointments through personal crafted lyrics and driving rhythms.  Mixed within their originals is a blend of music from other Midwest artists, currently touring groups and classic bands.

Their name and their drive for a great live sound is a tribute to Bruce "Fred the Bear" Eschler.  At his bar, the "Bear's Den", you’d always get a stiff drink and when the music was crankin', you were in for a heck of a night.  So we play tribute to the man who provided us with our first glimpse into the energy of live music .... Fred the Bear.

Band Members include: Ray Coudret, Beth Kanzelman, Bob Kanzelman, and Jerry Spencer. You’re likely to see special guest Bo Aylin joining in on this gig!
